Ilyushin Finance Co. shareholders okay acquisition of 102 aircraft
MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - The stockholders in OJSC Ilyushin Finance Company (IFC) voted at their AGM on Tuesday to approve the acquisition of a hundred and two aircraft, a statement issued by the leasing company says.
"A number of major deals were approved by the shareholders. Including deals for the acquisition by the company of fifty Russian MS-21 aircraft, the acquisition of thirty-two Canadian CSeries aircraft and twenty Russian Superjet aircraft," the statement says.
A source told Interfax that an agreement between IFC and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for twenty Sukhoi SuperJet-100s was inked this month at Universal Aviation France in Le Bourget.
IFC and the corporation Irkut signed a firm contract for twenty-eight MS-21s with an option for twenty-two more in August of 2011. The deal was estimated at $2.2 billion, not counting VAT, based on catalog prices. Delivery of the aircraft will take place from 2017 to 2022.
In the first quarter of this year, the company signed an agreement with the Canadian corporation Bombardier Aerospace for thirty-two CSeries (CS300) with an option for ten more. At catalog price and without the option, the deal is worth around $2.56 billion.
IFC's main line of business is leasing and selling Russian Tu-204, Tu-214, An-148, An-124, and Il-96 aircraft. Its shareholders are UAC with 48.4%, National Reserve Corporation with 25.8%, Vnesheconombank with 21.4%, and minority holders with 4.4%.
