Police officials from over 100 countries to voice initiatives to fight drug threat at Moscow conference
MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - The heads of the police services of over 100 countries will make their proposals on the fight against the drug threat at the forum in Moscow, Russian federal Drug Control Service Director Viktor Ivanov said at the 30th international conference on the fight against illegal drug turnover, which opened in Moscow on Wednesday.
"The heads of the police structures of over 100 countries of the world have gathered here today. They should develop solutions to these problems. We should propose to politicians new methods to fight the drug threat," he said.
Ivanov reiterated that the drug threat has become a global problem.
"The interest in the issue of the fight against drugs is now huge. This problem has turned into a challenge to the entire mankind," Ivanov said.
