Gazprom puts off production plateau for projects totalling 200 bcm
MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Following a dramatic decline in demand, Gazprom has postponed the launch (including forecast) of several prospective projects on the Yamal Peninsula and in Sakhalin by one to three years and the target dates for them achieving design capacity by one to four years, the Russian gas giant's annual report shows.
The combined design capacity of these projects is about 200 billion cubic meters. Gazprom has said repeatedly that even now it has a reserve of production capacity.
The design capacity in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District has been confirmed at the previous level, but the production plateau at Sakhalin projects has been revised upward to 13.2 bcm from 11.4 bcm at Yuzhno-Kirinskoye and to 5.5 bcm from 4.3 bcm at Kirinskoye.
