Chain of over-the-horizon radars to be deployed in Russia - source

MOSCOW. June 10 (INtefax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry plans to deploy a chain of over-the-horizon long-range detection radars for the Air Force, according to a source in the military industrial complex.

"Work has begun to deploy an echelon of over-the-horizon radars capable of spotting aircarft at a distance of up to 3,000 kilometers. It will be a chain of Konteiner over-the-horizon radars that will cover Russia's entire territory shortly, with the capability to survey the air space even beyond its borders," the source told Interfax-AVN on Monday.
