Policeman killed in Dagestan, one of attackers eliminated
MAKHACHKALA. June 11 (Interfax) - A police officer was killed during an armed attack on the village of Novolak in Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus, a spokesman for the republic's Interior Ministry told Interfax.
At around 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, "two policemen entered a food store, after which fire was opened on them from a nearby forest," the spokesman said.
"One of the policemen was killed. The other officer fired back, killing one of the attackers. The second criminal fled to the forest. A search for him is under way," he said.
