Ukraine repays $1 bln 2003 Eurobonds - MinFin
KYIV. June 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine has repaid $1 billion worth of Eurobonds issued in 2003 on time and in full.
According to a report on the Finance Ministry's website, given a rate of 7.65% per annum on the Eurobonds, the total repayment was $1.038 billion.
The State Treasury said that from the beginning of the year to June 3, government borrowing amounted to UAH 70.96 billion (including UAH 52.98 billion in domestic borrowing), with the five-month plan totaling UAH 77.71 billion, and the six-month plan totaling UAH 83.3 billion.
Some UAH 12.08 billion (UAH 8.34 billion) were paid to service the debt, with the plan being UAH 13.22 billion and UAH 15.88 billion respectively for five and six months. UAH 26.84 billion (UAH 15.26 billion) were debt repayment, with the plan for five months being UAH 31.66 billion, and six months UAH 40.34 billion.
Ukraine, according to the medium-term debt management strategy for 2013-2015, plans to increase state borrowings by 31.7% this year to UAH 135.5 billion, with the share of domestic borrowing being 68.6%.
The official exchange rate for June 13 is UAH 7.993/$1.
