Ruble corrects higher on Thursday

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - The ruble corrected higher against the dollar and euro on Thursday amid stabilization on global capital markets and heightened demand for ruble liquidity.

The dollar was down 37.2 kopecks to 32.022 rubles/$1 as of 7:00 p.m. on the Moscow Exchange. The euro was down 52.8 kopecks to 42.5845 rubles/EUR1, after touching its highest point since October 7, 2011 - 43.328 rubles/EUR1 - early in the session.

The bi-currency basket fell 44 kopecks to 36.775 rubles.

The Central Bank raised the official dollar rate for Friday by 4.84 kopecks to 32.3467 rubles/$1 but lowered its euro rate by 26.9 kopecks to 43.2443 rubles/EUR1.

The dollar averaged down 9.64 kopecks to 32.2846 rubles/$1 in Today deals and down 21.03 kopecks to 32.209 rubles/$1 in Tom deals. Overall trading volume was $7.379 billion, including $1.980 billion Today and $5.398 billion Tom.

The euro was up 17.73 kopecks to 43.1527 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and down 8.14 kopecks to 42.941 rubles/EUR1 in Tom deals in volume of EUR784 million, including EUR280 million Today and EUR504 million Tom.

The MosPrime Rate for overnight credits rose 2 basis points to 6.25%.
