UCL Port sees cargo volume drop 14.4% to 13.9 mln tonnes in Jan-May

MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - UCL Port, the stevedoring division of Russian billionaire Vladimir Lisin's UCL Holding, handled 13.899 million tonnes of cargo in the first five months of 2013, 14.4% less than in the same period last year, a source familiar with the company's operations told Interfax.

Two of UCL Port's five stevedoring units handled more cargo year-on-year. Cargo turnover jumped 56.2% to 1.538 million tonnes at JSC St. Petersburg Container Terminal and rose 4.6% to 1.311 million tonnes at LLC Multipurpose Reloading Complex.

However, cargo turnover fell 8.1% to 484,000 tonnes at JSC Taganrog Commercial Sea Port, 13.2% to 3.265 million tonnes at JSC St. Petersburg Sea Port and 28.1% to 5.297 million tonnes at JSC Tuapse Commercial Sea Port.
