MinFin not set to impost LNG export duties
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Liquefied natural gas (LNG) will not be subject to export duties, Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov has told the press.
"We are not planning to impost export duties," Shatalov said.
Zero LNG export duties were pledged for the Yamal-LNG project, the launch of which is expected at the end of 2016. However, several new projects involving the building of LNG plants have since appeared in Russia: Gazprom's Vladivostok LNG, Alltech's Pechora LNG, and the Rosneft LNG plant project on Sakhalin.
Energy Minister Alexander Novak has said that his ministry is prepared to consider the introduction of export duty breaks for LNG production projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich has said that introducing LNG production export duty breaks is not a matter of general discussion by the government.
