Iran sanctions may be relieved if it stops 20% uranium enrichment - Lavrov
MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - The P5+1 group of global powers negotiating with Iran on settling the problem of its nuclear program may agree to relieve sanctions earlier imposed on Tehran if it stops uranium enrichment to a 20% level, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"The latest meetings [between P5+1 and Iran] saw willingness to resolve the 20% enrichment problem. Naturally, bearing in mind that, if Iran stops such enrichment, P5+1 or the international community as a whole will also make some reciprocal steps in terms of relieving unilateral or multilateral sanctions," Lavrov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 news TV channel.
