VEB could soon start borrowing abroad

ST. PETERSBURG. June 20 (Interfax) - Vnesheconombank (VEB) plans to start borrowing abroad before long.

"This will be club deals, syndications, Eurobonds, but there are two things - the state of the market and cost of borrowing, on the one hand, and the second, on the reverse side, the transactions we will do to lend to our borrowers," VEB chief Vladimir Dmitriyev told Interfax on the sidelines of the St Petersburg Economic Forum.

Dmitriyev did no say how much VEB might borrow, when or in what currency, saying this would all depend on the projects of its borrowers.
