ST. PETERSBURG. June 21 (Interfax) - Gazprom has signed an agreement with EDF on the terms for selling gas, an Interfax correspondent reports from the signing ceremony.

EDF will receive gas from Gazprom via the South Stream pipeline, the agreement says.

The building of the maritime section of South Stream will begin in the second quarter of 2014. This section, to be built by South Stream Transport AG, will run for 930 km and will lie in the exclusive economic zones of Russia, Turkey, and Bulgaria. Gazprom's stake in the project is 50%, Eni's 20%, Wintershall Holding's 15%, and EDF's 15%.

After project capacity is reached, the gas pipeline will be moving 63 billion cubic meters a year. South Stream will consist of four stretches each 32 inches in diameter and with throughput capacity of 15.75 bcm of gas a year.
