Putin upbeat about Russian-German summit dialogue

ST. PETERSBURG. June 21 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin welcomes the "regular" Russian-German summit dialogue.

"We are strongly interested in such an interesting dialogue, given the scope of our cooperation" he said.

Merkel said the agreement that she would arrive in St.Petersburg for the forum was reached back in Hanover .

"My participation in the forum is especially important taking into account Russia's presidency in the Group of Twenty industrialized states. We are currently engaged in political dialogue, and we will subsequently meet with business people," Merkel said.
