Saakashvili impeachment procedure may start in Georgian parliament

TBILISI. June 23 (Interfax) - Representative of the Georgian parliamentary majority Giya Zhorzholiani plans to start the presidential impeachment procedure next week.

Zhorzholiani said most of the Georgian lawmakers would back his initiative.

"This is necessary not just to impeach Saakashvili - he will step down in October, but also to make it clear to the public how ruinous the criminal regime is and to name the person responsible for this - the architect of this regime," Zhorzholiani said.
