Court issues injunction against Ritek wells on Yamal
SALEKHARD. June 24 (Interfax) - Municipal court in Nadym, Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district, has ordered a subsidiary of Lukoil , Ritek, to halt operation of six wells at the Sandibinskoye field, the General Prosecutor's Office said.
A check conducted by the office found that the wells, which are classified as capital construction facilities, were being operated without permission, in violation of the Town Planning Code.
The environmental protection division of the prosecutor's office in Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district filed suit to shut down the wells pending issuance of the required permits.
The environmental protection division also filed an administrative violation case against Ritek and one of its deputy general directors, resulting in a court fine against Ritek and a fine imposed by the Northern Urals division of Rostekhnadzor against the deputy general director.
The order to shut down the six wells, including four oil production wells, one injection well and one water-intake well, has been put into effect, a representative of the environmental protection division told Interfax. The representative also said the company had been fined 60,000 rubles (10,000 rubles per well) and the company executive had been fined 6,000 rubles.
Interfax has been unable to obtain comment from Ritek.
