Aeroflot plans to recover $200 mln removed by Berezovsky companies in 1990s

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Aeroflot Russian Airlines expects to recover over $200 million allegedly removed from the company by structures belonging to the late Boris Berezovsky in the 1990s.

"We will recover over $200 million," Dmitry Saprykin, the deputy CEO for legal issues, said at the annual general meeting.

Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev said: "a portion of the assets that belonged to Boris Abramovich [Berezovsky] when he was still alive are now frozen, and we are hoping to bring all this to a conclusion [recover the money]."

Aeroflot worked for 10 years to recover $57 million taken by Berezovsky structures in the 1990s. "I would like to tell you in all earnestness that thanks to our legal service, we succeeded in recovering that money together with the General Prosecutor's Office," he said.

It was reported earlier that Aeroflot recovered the $57 million in 2010.
