Gazprom not in litigation with Naftogaz over contract shortfall
MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Gazprom is not in litigation with Ukraine's Naftogaz for not taking up the full take-or-pay volume under gas sales contracts for last year or this year because the Russian company understands Naftogaz has nothing to pay with, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told the Ekho Moskvy radio station.
Kupriyanov confirmed that complaints had been leveled against Naftogaz for last year and that the company "also faced big ones" this year.
But in order to pursue this in the courts "you need to know what you want to achieve," Kupriyanov said, adding that Gazprom so far had no idea where the money will come from, therefore it was not in litigation.
