Aeroflot flies 20% more passengers in 5M

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - OJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines transported 7.618 million travelers in January-May this year, 20.3% more year-on-year, a company statement says.

Passenger turnover increased 23.3% to 22.3 billion passenger-km.

The statement reports a seat-occupancy rate of 76.4% for the period, a 2.4 percentage point increase.

The airline's May passenger flow increased 22.5% to 1.702 million fliers. It flew 971,900 people on international routes, up 18.3%, and 730,900 on domestic routes, up 28.7%. Passenger turnover for the company last month rose 26.7% to 4.767 million passenger-km.

The May seat-occupancy rate was up 2.2 percentages points at 73.9%.

The commercial load on Aeroflot was 60.5%, half a percentage point higher than in May of last year.
