Snowden stays put in Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport transit zone - source

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - Former CIA officer Edward Snowden stays put in the transit zone of the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, an airport representative told Interfax.

"There is no confirmation to this passenger's registration for a flight or his departure. He is still staying in the transit zone," the source said.

Snowden fled to Hong Kong in May and leaked information about convert security service surveillance in the worldwide web. He said U.S. security services had access to millions of phone calls and servers of major Internet companies. Snowden has lately moved to Moscow from Hong Kong. The media said he remains in the transit zone of the Sheremetyevo Airport for now.

Meanwhile, the United States has called on Russia to transfer the ex-CIA officer to his home country.
