Surgutneftegas to launch new complex at Kirishi refinery in Q4

SURGUT. June 28 (Interfax) - Surgutneftegas plans to begin production at a newly built high-value-added refining complex at its Kinef refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad region, in the fourth quarter of 2013, CEO Vladimir Bogdanov said at the AGM.

"I would like to note that the main construction work on the high-value-added oil refining complex based on hydrocracking of fuel oil has been completed. The first line of the complex has been started up, including the paraffin hydrorefiner unit, used in the production of clean burning euro 5 winter diesel fuel, and the second stage for sulfur extraction," Bogdanov said.

Launch of the entire complex later this year and subsequent increase in production to design capacity will substantially increase production of light oil products: high octane gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.

"Overall, the additional diesel fuel production will total 2.1 million tonnes and gasoline - 600,000 tonnes. All of the diesel fuel produced at the complex will meet euro 5 standards," he said.

Later, responding to shareholder queries about the distribution of the company's accumulated cash pile, Bogdanov said that in 2016 Surgutneftegas plans to complete construction of the isomerization unit at the refinery at a cost of about 4 billion rubles.
