EU, U.S. may discuss alleged tapping of European diplomats' conversations
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Media reports alleging that U.S. security services have been tapping conversations of European diplomats must be verified, Ambassador Fernando M. Valenzuela, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moscow, told a Monday press conference at Interfax.
He said he could not comment on information, which had been neither explained nor confirmed.
The information needs to be verified; if it proves true then the issue will naturally have to be discussed with the U.S. friends, Valenzuela said.
He added that the EU would be seriously concerned if the presumptions appeared to be correct.
