EU sees relation between human rights observance in Russia, cancelling visas
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - The European Union is not inclined to politicize the dialog on cancelling visas with Russia but does see a relation between this and human rights issues, EU Ambassador to Russia Fernando Valenzuela said at a news conference in the Interfax headquarters on Monday.
Russia and the EU have achieved good results in the work on first three blocks of the visa dialog and the EU expects such work to be continued in the future, Valenzuela said.
The EU proposed to Russia to have a mission of experts to arrive in late July and we suggested places and regions that this mission ought to visit, the official said. The EU is currently waiting for Russia's response to the proposal, Valenzuela said.
