Eurasian Energy Corp launches 325-MW power unit at Aksu plant
PAVLODAR. July 2 (Interfax) - JSC Eurasian Energy Corporation (EEC), which is based in the Pavlodar region of northern Kazakhstan, has launched the sixth 325-MW power unit at the Aksu TETS power plant after upgrading, EEC said in a press release.
The cost of the project was $265 million.
"As a result of the upgrading project, the installed capacity of the unit was increased by 25 MW," the press release said.
Now, the entire power plant's installed capacity is 2,450 MW.
EEC is part of Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC). The company has three business units: the Aksu Power Plant, East Mine (coal) and a repair shop. The company specializes in electricity generation, coal production and energy and mining equipment repairs.
