Rescuers discover fallen helicopter in Yakutia - Emergencies Ministry

YAKUTSK. July 3 (Interfax) - A rescue team on Wednesday discovered the Mil Mi-8 helicopter that had made a rough landing, Interfax was told at the press service of the Yakutian department of the Emergency Situations' Ministry.

"Visual contact has been established. Rescuers are advancing to the expected location of the helicopter," a press officer said.

Earlier reports said that there were 25 passengers, including 11 children, and three crewmembers aboard the helicopter of Polar Airlines on a flight from the town of Deputatsky to the village of Kazachye that made a rough landing 45 kilometers northwest of Deputatsky, Yakutia.

The East Siberian department of the Investigative Committee launched a case in relation to the rough landing.
