$200,000 found in search of Yaroslavl mayor press secretary's residence - police
MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - A large sum of money has been found in the residence of the press secretary of the Yaroslavl mayor, who is suspected of extorting a bribe, the Interior Ministry press center told Interfax.
"Some $200,000 was found during the search of the premises of Yevgeny Urlashov's press secretary (Svetlana Yefimova)," it said.
The origin of this money is being established, the press service said.
Half a million U.S. dollars were discovered during a search in the house of the mayor of Yaroslavl suspected of extortion and bribery that his daughter tried to hide, Interfax was told at the Interior Ministry press secretary.
"The police seized $500,000 from the neighboring apartment," a press officer said.
He said that after learning about the detention of her father Tuesday night the mayor's daughter asked the neighbor to hide the money from law enforcers for some time.
