Moscow yet to reach final decision to sell Mosenergo stake, but strategically minded to

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - The City of Moscow has not yet reached a final decision to sell its blocking stake in the Mosenergo generating company, but it is strategically inclined to dispose of non-core assets, especially those in which it does not own a controlling stake.

"The city doesn't need assets like this, but there is no final decision [to sell the Mosenergo stake]," Vladimir Pogrebenko, deputy head of the city's property Department, said during a road show for the sale of the city's controlling stake in Moscow Integrated Power Company (MIPC) .

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has said the city needs to divest non-core assets, especially those where it owns a minority stake.

The Gazprom Group owns the controlling stake in MIPC, and the City of Moscow owns 26.4%.
