Romania ready to vote for visa-free travel between Russia, EU - Romanian Foreign Minister
MOSCOW/BUCHAREST. July 8 (Interfax) - Romania supports the introduction of visa-free travel between Russia and the European Union and hopes an agreement simplifying visa procedures will be signed as quickly as possible, Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean said.
"As to cancelling visa regulations in the foreseeable future, such a decision can be made only with the agreement of all EU member states. We support this approach and if necessary, Romania's vote, I can say this even now, will be in favor," Corlatean said in an interview with Interfax ahead of his visit to Moscow.
Corlatean is scheduled to have talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on July 9.
