Prolux plans to launch another LED lights line in Karaganda

KARAGANDA. July 12 (Interfax) - Prolux KZ LTD plans to launch another line for manufacturing of LED lamps in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, said the regional business and industry department.

The project total cost is 130 million tenge with 100 million tenge raised from borrowings and 30 million tenge of company's own funds (152.25 tenge/$1).

The project is scheduled to be commissioned in October 2013 and reach the projected capacity of 8,000 lamps a year in 2015.

LED lamps will be used in lighting of streets, roads, bridges, railway platforms, industrial sites, storage facilities and greenhouses. Part of the products will be exported to Russia.

According to the Department of Business and Industry, the cost of locally made LED lamps will be 15%-20% lower than exports from Russia and China.

As reported, the company commissioned a 350-million tenge LED production line in 2011.
