Kazakhstan ups copper production 19%, zinc down 1% in H1

ALMATY. July 12 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan produced 187,218 tonnes of refined copper in January-June, 19.1% more than in the same period of last year, the State Statistics Agency said.

Unprocessed zinc production fell 1% to 157,063 tonnes.

Copper ore production rose 15.4% to 20.518 million tonnes, copper-zinc ore fell 1.8% to 2.451 million tonnes and lead-zinc ore was down 7.9% to 3.656 million tonnes.

Production of copper in concentrate rose by 4.3% to 216,100 tonnes, while zinc in concentrate fell 3.8% to 174,400 tonnes.
