Two suspected militants killed in clash with security forces in Ingushetia
ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 13 (Interfax) - Two men suspected of belonging to illegal armed groups have been killed in a special operation in the village of Nesterovskaya in Ingushetia, a local law enforcement source told Interfax on Saturday.
"A house, from which fire was opened at security forces, was blockaded last night. Preliminary reports indicate that two members of the criminal underworld were killed in an exchange of fire. The scene of the shootout is being examined now," he said.
The dead men's identities have yet to be determined.
A security forces member was injured in the clash.
The Investigative Committee department for Ingushetia later confirmed the killing of the fighters. "A TT pistol and three improvised grenades have been found at the scene. The scene is being examined now, and the opening of a criminal case is under consideration," a department spokesperson said.
