Uzbek Foreign Minister discusses developing bilateral ties with U.S. State Department officials

TASHKENT. July 18 (Interfax) - Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with the U.S. State Department delegation headed by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Jane Zimmerman, the Foreign Ministry press office said on Thursday.

"Opinions on certain aspects of the Uzbek-U.S. cooperation were exchanged during the meeting. The companions also discussed a number of pressing issues aimed at further development of bilateral relations," the press office said.

Zimmerman shared her impressions about the meetings and talks held in a number of agencies and bodies in Tashkent and the trip to Uzbekistan's Fergana Province, the press office said.

U.S. Ambassador George Krol participated in the meeting.

Zimmerman has also met with Uzbek ombudsman and Interior Ministry executives.
