Russia appoints its first ambassador to South Sudan
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin has ordered concurrent accreditation in South Sudan of Russian Ambassador to Uganda Sergei Shishkin.
The presidential decree was published in the legal database.
Russia established diplomatic relations with South Sudan in August 2011.
The republic gained sovereignty on July 9, 2011, after the signing of the declaration of independence of South Sudan.
