Russia ups pharmaceuticals output 3.3% in H1
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) n- Russia boosted pharmaceuticals production 3.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2013, the Russian Statistics Service reported.
Production increased 17.9% for packaged antibiotics to 54.2 million units, and 6.6% for bottled antibiotics to 196.8 million. Production of cardiovascular treatments grew 18.5% to 124.5 million ampoules and 1.4% to 187.7 million packets. Russia produced 6.75 million packets of oncological treatments, up 49.1%, but bottled oncological treatments were down 83.6% to 348,000.
Production of neuropsychiatric treatments went down 4% to 55.5 million packets and fell 40.5% to 25.2 million ampoules. Production of painkillers, fever reduction treatments and anti-inflammatories climbed 7.3% to 369.1 million packets, but was down 6.5% for ampoules to 176.2 million.
Production of blood substitutes amounted to 23.6 million packets, a drop of 11.9%, and 20.3 million ampoules, down 36%. Russia produced 4.92 million packets of TB drugs, up 5.5%, and 2 million ampoules, down 27.7%. Diabetes treatments increased 13.9% to 5 million packets and 22.3% to 296,000 bottles and dysbacteriosis treatment went up 6.6% to 244.2 million doses. Anti-asthma and antihistamine treatments were up by 0.1% to 15.9 million packets and down 17.7% to 9.79 million ampoules.
Production of general and local anesthesia increased 23.9% to 2.42 million packets, and 43.5% to 54.5 million ampoules. Eye treatments dropped 0.9% to 24.9 million packets. Production of drugs used in obstetrics climbed 9% to 9.26 million packets and 61.7% to 69.28 million ampoules.
Russia increased production of treatment for endocrine, digestive and other diseases 4.7% to 207.1 million packets and 36.3% to 42.2 million ampoules. Production of vitamins grew 25.7% to 124.8 million packets and fell 14.2% to 103.7 million ampules.
