Russian trade surplus narrows 8.1% to $13.7 bln in June - Klepach

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Russia's trade surplus narrowed 8.1% year-on-year to $13.7 billion in June, Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach told reporters.

In June compared with May this year, exports fell 0.4% to $41.6 billion, while imports grew 5.7% to $27.9 billion.

Retail trade grew 0.8% on a seasonally adjusted basis.

Analysts told Interfax in a consensus forecast at the end of June that they thought there would be a trade surplus of $16.7 billion that month.

The Econ Ministry's official 2013 forecast surplus is $151 billion, while the analysts think $157 billion is likely.
