Medvedev meets with Cuban children
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev welcomed a group of Cuban schoolchildren at government headquarters in Moscow on Monday.
Medvedev said that, during his visit to Havana in February, he was so impressed with Cuban children's knowledge of Russian culture that he couldn't help inviting them to Russia.
"Very friendly relations bring our countries together, and there are very many students from your country who study and studied in Russia," the prime minister said during Monday's meeting.
The children took turns in thanking Medvedev for inviting them to Russia, comparing their visit to a dream that had become reality.
At the end of the meeting, they presented Medvedev with a pencil drawing showing a meeting between Medvedev and Cuban President Raul Castro.
