Putin congratulates British Queen with great-grandson's birth, wishes health to newborn - Kremlin press office

MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Her Majesty Elizabeth, Queen of the UK and Northern Ireland, with the birth of her great-grandson, the Kremlin press office said.

Putin has wished good health to the newborn, Duchess of Cambridge and all the members of the royal family.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, gave birth to a baby boy on July 22 at 16.24 London time. The boy weighs 3,800 kilograms and will be the third in line for the British throne.

A bulletin with the news was put on the Buckingham Palace gate in line with tradition. It said that the Duchess and the boy were doing well and would remain in the hospital overnight.

A press release said that Duke of Cambridge and Queen Elizabeth's older grandson William was presented during the delivery.

A Buckingham Palace representative said that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were delighted with the news.
