Kalashnikov to be discharged from hospital soon
MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The legendary Russian weapon designer Mikhail Kalashnikov will be discharged from the Mandryka hospital in Moscow in July and go to a health rehabilitation center, Yelena Filatova, spokesperson for the Izhmash research and production corporation, told Interfax-AVN.
"The course of rehabilitation treatment Kalashnikov is undergoing at the Mandryka hospital is nearing an end and doctors plan to discharge him before the end of July," she said.
The rehabilitation is proceeding well and the 93 year old patient is in good spirits. His life is not in danger.
Kalashnikov was born on November 10, 1919. He gained world acclaim after he designed the assault rifle that bears his name.
