Ukrainian communications market edges down 0.5% in H1

KYIV. July 23 (Interfax) - Revenue from communications services in Ukraine fell 0.5% year-on-year in January-June to UAH25.691 billion.

The State Statistics Service said revenue from postal services increased by 5.3%, to UAH1.643 billion (UAH7.993/$1 on July 23).

Revenue from urban telephone communications last month increased by 5.1%, to UAH2.798 billion and those from rural communications increased by 5.2% to UAH200.1 million, while those from intercity telephone services declined by 21.9%, to UAH1.158 billion, and those from IP telephony were up by 10.1%, to UAH83 million.

Revenue from mobile communications services fell 1.8% to UAH15.269 billion. Revenue from Internet services were up by 4.3%, to UAH2.396 billion.

Revenue from cable TV services grew by 4.7% to UAH789.2 million.
