Lithuanian GDP grows 4.2% in H1

VILNIUS. July 30 (Interfax) - Lithuania's gross domestic product, adjusted for season, expanded 4.2% year-on-year in the first half of 2013 and in 2012 prices reached 55.921 billion litai, the country's statistics department reported.

In the second quarter, year-on-year GDP growth was 4.1% to 29.603 billion litai.

Lithuanian economic growth in 2012 was 3.6%, with GDP reaching 112.411 billion litai. The Lithuanian government reckons GDP will grow 3% this year, while the country's Central Bank projects 2.8% growth. The International Monetary Fund predicts GDP will expand 3%.

The Lithuanian litas is pegged to the euro at 3.4528 litai/EUR1.
