Dagestan resident ready to compensate health costs to Moscow policeman - lawyer

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Dagestan resident Khalimat Rasulova, charged with making an attempt on the Moscow policeman's life is ready to compensate health costs incurred by the injured party, the Interfax correspondent reported citing her lawyer.

The lawyer made the statement at Moscow's Nikulinsky Court, which considered investigators' motion to place Rasulova under arrest, the Interfax correspondent reported.

The policeman was attacked during an incident at Moscow's Matveyevsky market.

"Rasulova went to visit the victim at the hospital after the incident, she was concerned about his fate," the lawyer said. "She is ready to compensate all hospital costs incurred by the injured party," he said.

Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax earlier on Tuesday that the Dagestan couple, detained due to the attack on the Moscow police officer at the Matveyevsky market in western Moscow, have been charged.

"The Main Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for Moscow has charged Khalimat Rasulova and Magomed Rasulov with making an attempt on the life of a law enforcement official [Russian Criminal Code Article 317]," Markin said.

The married couple was brought to the Nikulinsky Court on Tuesday, where investigators' request for their arrest was considered.
