Over 140 criminal cases opened over calls to Federal Drug Control Service hotline
MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - The single anti-drug hotline received over 6,000 calls in six months and 142 criminal cases were opened over them.
"The single anti-drug number, the hotline, of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service reception received 6,128 calls of citizens in six months," the Federal Drug Control Service posted a statement on its website.
The majority of calls (57%) concerned illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances and the rest, more emotional ones, related to rehabilitation and resocialization of drug users.
The Federal Drug Control Service employees have opened 142 criminal cases over the information citizens provided and court rulings have already been returned on nine drug dealers. A total of 59 people have been held administratively liable. Over a thousand statements are currently being checked.
