Israel ready to concede settlement projects but not Jerusalem - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - Israel may make concessions to the Palestinians on the question of the settlement projects but it will be firm with regards to the status of East Jerusalem, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, Acting Foreign Minister Ze'ev Elkin said.

"Hopefully, we won't do that when dealing with the question of Jerusalem. The prime minister is adamant. As to Judaea and Samaria, alas, [Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] is prepared to offer concessions," Elkin told Interfax.

"My position is different but the prime minister has been very clear about it," the diplomat said.
