Ukrainian state budget deficit 12.3% of spending in H1

KYIV. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Ukraine posted a state budget deficit of UAH22.746 billion for the first half of 2013, which was 45% of the UAH50.585 billion limit for the year and amounted to 12.3% of spending, the country's Finance Ministry said on its website.

State budget revenue for the half was UAH162.649 billion and spending UAH185.444 billion.

The deficit for June was UAH4.258 billion, 81.2% up month-on-month and 39.6% more year-on-year.

Finance Ministry figures show that debt repayment out of the state budget amounted to UAH35.098 billion - UAH15.399 billion for domestic and UAH19.699 billion for foreign debt - while state borrowing to finance the budget came to UAH69.222 billion - UAH49.481 billion (domestic) and UAH19.741 billion (foreign).

The privatization of state-owned property netted the budget UAH173 million.

Credits paid off into the budget in H1 amounted to UAH2.294 billion. Credits of UAH2.245 billion were extended from the budget.

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry is prepared to initiate the sequestration of the state budget based on its implementation in January-September if the situation with the receipt of revenues continues to deteriorate.
