Russian, UAE diplomats discuss situation in Egypt
MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - The problems plaguing some countries of the Middle East need to be settled peacefully and nonviolently, as Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special presidential envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov and United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan agreed in a telephone conversation on Thursday.
The two diplomats considered the situation in the Middle East, particularly the way the domestic political situation is developing in Egypt, and "agreed to maintain Russian-Emirati active political dialogue on issues of mutual interest, including promising partnership between Russia and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
