Lukoil expects to launch Karpatnaftochim by year's end

KYIV. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian petrochemical plant LLC Karpatnaftochim will not be able to resume operations at the beginning of August, its launch has been pushed back to a later date, the newspaper Kapital reported, citing Sergei Chmykhalov, the representative of Russian oil company Lukoil in Ukraine.

The first deputy head of Ukraine's State Agency for State Corporate Rights and Property, Alexander Kalenkov told reporters earlier that Karpatnaftochim, which is located in the Ivano-Frankivsk region town of Kalush, would resume operations on August 2 after sitting idle for a year.

Karpatnaftochim was founded in October 2004 based on the facilities of OJSC Oriana by Kalush-based CJSC Lukor with 24% and Lukoil Chemical B.V. (Netherlands) with 76%.
