Russian govt is fulfilling its functions well - Putin

SELIGER (Tver region). Aug 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he is generally satisfied with the work of the Russian government.

"I have to say that the government is generally fulfilling its functions well," he said while meeting with people in the youth camp Seliger, commenting on the statement made by a young Communist Party member, who said Putin had often criticized government officials and asked the president whether he believes the government should resign.

"My duty is to organize the process of running the country. Fulfilling this constitutional function, I must always be strict with my subordinates. I am always strict, but just," Putin said.

"It would be wrong to say that the government is doing everything wrong and doubt its every action," Putin said.
