Russian Black Sea Fleet will protect Sochi Olympics - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry will take part in ensuring the security of the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The Defense Ministry plays an important role in protecting this sports forum. The Black Sea Fleet will be involved in security measures," Shoigu said while meeting with top Defense Ministry officials in the ministry's situation center on Monday.

"Some objects that will be used in the security measures are currently being built," Shoigu said. "Our task is to put them into operation in a timely manner," he said.
