Ammonia leak at Ukrainian chemical giant kills 5, injures some 20 - prosecutor

HORLIVKA, Donetsk region. An ammonia leak at the Stirol Concern chemical factory in Horlivka, the Donetsk region of Ukraine, has killed five and injured about 20 people, Horlivka Prosecutor Oleh Kolesnyk said.

"Approximately 20 people have been injured, and some of them are in the hospital in critical condition. But most of [those injured] are in fair condition," he said.

All those affected suffered ammonia poisoning and burns of their airways, he said.
