Kazakhstan extends ban on exports of some oil products to year-end

ASTANA. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The Kazakh government has extended the ban on exports for some oil products until the end of this year.

The government resolution extending the ban came into force on July 1, 2013 and was published in the official newspapers only today, on August 7, 2013.

"This is to introduce a ban on exports of the following oil products from July 1, 2013 till December 31, 2013: light distillates and products (customs commodity no. 2710 12), kerosene (2710 19 210 0 - 2710 19 250 0), gas oils (2710 19 420 0 - 2710 19 480 0, 2710 20 110 0 - 2710 20 190 0) and other oil products (2710 20 900 0) except for special types of gasoline (2710 12 2100 - 2710 12 250 0), light distillates (2710 12 410 0 for motor gasoline with an octane rating under 80) and domestic heating oil," the document says.

According to the resolution, exports of light distillates (2710 12 410 0 for motor gasoline with an octane rating under 80) must not exceed 100,000 tonnes.

Originally, the ban on export of oil distillates and products (2710 12), kerosene, gas oils and other oil products (2710 20 900 0) was introduced on January 1, 2013 for six months. The ban did not apply to special types of gasoline and domestic heating oil.
