Daughter of Russian woman who took daughter from Norway over violence by father gets temporary visa - Astakhov's representative

MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The Russian, who left Norway with her daughter over cruel treatment by her husband, left the capsule hotel in the Moscow airport Sheremetyevo on Tuesday evening, Renat Abdeyev, press officer for the presidential ombudsman on children's rights told Interfax.

"An employee of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry arrived late on Tuesday and issued the girl a visa for a period of 14 days. The mother and daughter have now left the Sheremetyevo capsule hotel," Abdeyev said on Wednesday.

According to earlier reports, Astakhov asked the Federal Migration Service to grant asylum the daughter of the Russian woman, who is a citizen of Norway.

The woman arrived in the transit zone of the Moscow Sheremetyevo airport on August 3.

Russian citizen Svetlana A. says she and her daughter Angelina left Norway "over violence by her husband, the girl's father", the children's rights ombudsman said on Twitter on Tuesday. "The daughter, who is a citizen of Norway, is seeking asylum in Russia," the report says.
